What is a KettleTag®?
The KettleTag® or KettleTag®PLUS is a metal tag that can withstand the entire galvanizing process. The tags are printed via a specialized high-contrast laser-marked coating. Used primarily by galvanizers and fabricators, a tag can be attached to each project piece for the duration of the project, adding critical identifying information and easing quality control.
How can I request a quote for a specific project?
Email us at info@arctags.com for any questions or help with the ordering process. You can order tags directly on our website here.
What kind of projects require galvanizing tags?
Tags are generally used for metal that will undergo the galvanization or hot-dip process. Tags are great for identifying any steel piece for any commercial or industrial project. The tags can withstand high temperatures, chemicals including caustic & acid rinses, molten zinc bath, abrasion, and UV exposure. Some fabricators like to attach them to every project piece simply for identification and quality control.
Why is a metal tag better than stamping?
KettleTags require much less time and resources than stamping. They are easy to attach and can even include things like barcodes that can work seamlessly with QC systems. Less room for human error–attaches once without worrying that numbers and letters will be compromised from heat or chemicals.
What if I can’t find the size tag that I need?
If you can't find a specific size, we can help find a solution for the size you need! Call us or email us for the quickest response.
How much text can fit on one tag?
It depends on the size of the tag, but a general rule is that for each inch in height about two lines of text can fit. Each line of text can fit anywhere from about 10-16 characters depending on the size of the text. See guidelines on each tag product description. Barcodes and QR codes will take up more room. Please contact us with questions–we can usually help you find a solution that fits your needs.
How do I upload my spreadsheet to my order?
You will be prompted to attach a file/spreadsheet when you checkout. Please double check your custom information, numbers, and quantities. For an example of how spreadsheets should be formatted, see pictures in product descriptions. Or go HERE for an example.
What is the typical turnaround time for my order of tags?
We try to get the order out the door within 48 hours, however, it is usually the same day with shipping averaging 2-5 business days.
How do I attach my Kettle Tag to my project pieces?
The simplest way is to attach to your piece using metal wire or steel zip ties. For convenience, we also carry 11” stainless steel metal zip ties–add them to your next order.
